There will be a national fireworks ban, but in some municipalities in Brabant it is already prohibited to let off fireworks this year. This is evident from a survey by the ANP to all municipalities.

Twenty municipalities in the Netherlands have a fireworks ban this year. This also includes Tilburg and Eindhoven. In other Brabant municipalities there are only fireworks-free zones. This means that fireworks are not allowed to be lit in some places.

Earlier this year, the Senate and House of Representatives agreed to a national fireworks ban. This ban could come into effect next year. Emergency services hope that the coming New Year will be peaceful and respectful.
