“You are contagious from the day before you develop symptoms”: this is what you need to know as the flu season peaks

The warning level for the flu was recently raised to code orange and now that peak of the flu season also appears to have been reached. But what causes that disease? How can you prevent or treat an infection? And does it still make sense to get a flu shot? We asked our science expert Martijn Peters: “Even if you don’t immediately come close to someone with the flu, you should still be more careful.”
