TOlessandro Siani and Leonardo Pieraccioni I’m at the cinema with the film You and I need to talk. Will the comedy revive the Christmas box office? And will the two actors and directors, former blockbusters, be able to conquer today’s young people?
Pieraccioni and Siani (also director) play the role of a couple of incompetent policemen who manage to solve the case of a local boss by pure chance. The film pays homage to “American-style” buddy movies, as one of the two protagonists of the film would say, and Italian style (those with Renato Pozzetto and Enrico Montesano). Antonio and Pieraldo will also resolve their family issues during this comic adventure.

Alessandro Siani calls Leonardo Pieraccioni in his new comedy film You and I need to talk. «But this is not the usual romantic comedy full of gags» says the Neapolitan actor and director. The idea comes from the protagonists of the film: Antonio (Siani) and Pieraldo (Pieraccioni), two bungling policemenwho, in addition to sharing the steering wheel, have complex personal relationships. Pieraldo is Matilde’s partner (Brenda Lodigiani), Antonio’s ex-wife, and father figure to Maria (Gea Dall’Orto), Antonio’s daughter. Their routine is turned upside down when they find themselves involved in a risky case that could represent a turning point in both their career and private life.
The two are very different in their approach to the craft. Antonio loves American-style action, every time he has to do a chase he thinks he is Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible. Pieraldo, on the other hand, would like to stay in the office all the time. He hates action. Together they do things cooked and raw. To the point that their leader puts them to guard the Ancona park and observe the geese.
Antonio, raised in a family of Neapolitan scoundrels (his father is Peppe Lanzetta), dreams of becoming a hero. He will succeed thanks to the intervention of luck. In addition to the case of the local boss, he will also have to solve two personal cases: the management of his daughter Mariaalways together with his friend Pieraldo, a new reference figure for the teenager; and a matter of the heart with his postal police colleague Sara (Francesca Chillemi), whom he meets after several years and for whom he has always felt attraction. Will he be able to satisfy the needs of his heart this time?

Leonardo Pieraccioni and Alessandro Siani work together. The explosive comedy of the Neapolitan comedian pairs perfectly with the more whispered one of the Florentine actor. The incompetent policemen, a comedy classic, work, and Alessandro Siani especially works in some of the film’s truly funny gags. Is a new comedy duo born?. «With Leonardo we think about other projects together and have other ideas», declares the director and actor, «I have found a brotherly friend. There is harmony between us.

The already cult scenes of You and I need to talk
The top scene is the one at the starred restaurant with Alessandro Siani and Francesca Chillemi. A scene that will make you laugh out loud. Audiences will understand why when they see her on the big screen. The Neapolitan comedian gives his best and took hours and hours of improvisation and written pages to prepare it. The actress of May God help us she found herself taken aback several times by Alessandro’s whirlwind comedy.
Another scene that the audience will love is the bank robbery with Giovanni Espositoas Fittipaldi, Antonio’s forgetful friend, who never manages to complete the theft. Other gags are funny: like the one in the park with Antonio and Pieraldo intent on observing the geese in the pond, while a few steps away a war between criminals explodes, with lots of shootouts and hand grenades.

The one to resolve the delicate situation is his colleague Nico (Sergio Friscia), the Ethan Hunt of the situation, so hated by Antonio. Not all of the film works however: the comedic parts are the most successful. Less so when Siani dedicates himself to romantic, sentimental and family issues. There the ordinary and the obvious take over.
The cast of the film
In addition to Leonardo Pieraccioni and Alessandro Siani the cast of You and I need to talk also makes use of the presence of Brenda Lodigiani, Antonio’s ex-wife and now Pieraldo’s partner, with whom she enjoys having “rough sex”. Even Francesca Chillemi was overwhelmed by Siani’s whirlwind comedy. Here she plays the role of a double-faced policewoman and Antonio’s new flame.
Gea Dall’Orto, known to the general public for the film Three floors by Nanni Morettifor the first time deals with the comedy genre. Here she plays Antonio’s daughter and Pieraldo’s goddaughter, in love with Angelo (youtuber Tommaso Cassissa)son of the bad guy on duty (Enrico Lo Verso). Pieraccioni’s daughter also has a soft spot for Cassissa, according to Leonardo.
