Yolanthe Cabau gets a big swipe from Angela de Jong’s pan. The waving TV tiger shark of the AD wonders ‘what inspires her’. “So I would never do what she is doing,” it sounds.
It is a whole storyline in the soap series of Yolanthe Cabau: her son and his hair. That child had a long time, would have been bullied and now he has short hair. Unprecedented non-news of course, but all entertainment media work out. In fact: RTL Boulevard reported for days in a row about this Xess Xava.
XESS XAVA-HAAR
Dennis Jansen, media journalist of the AD, thinks that is greatly exaggerated. “I think I just saw Xess Xava in RTL Boulevard for two evenings in a row. Yes, I thought that was exaggerated,” he says in the AD Media Podcast.
Colleague Marcus den Blanken thinks that this kind of non-new is the foundation of such a program. “I understand very well that RTL Boulevard is about Xess Xava for two days. In fact, that program was once founded to talk about things like this.”
Flush
RTL Boulevard is once intended as a section that concerns gossip, Marcus emphasizes. “And not about all those crime cases that are sitting all the time after the advertising block and where I always have to flush further, because I already flush the advertising block.”
Angela de Jong, the big star of the podcast, on it: “Or the cooking tips of Miljuschka. The program was not set up for that.”
Long and short
Marcus prefers to look at Yolanthe news than at Bolle Jos-items. “It was a very long piece in that documentary about Yolanthe, that he was bullied with it and that people asked questions about it all the time and that he wanted to keep that long hair. And now it was suddenly short! I understood (RTL Boulevard, ed.) Completely.”

Angela concludes with a sneer at Yolanthe. “I agree with Mark, these are the subjects that belong in Boulevard.”
