Years of prison sentences for two robbers of Nikkie de Jager

Two men who attacked YouTube star Nikkie de Jager from Uden have received prison sentences of 5.5 and 7 years. A third suspect has been acquitted. The court in Rotterdam decided this on Friday.

In the early morning of August 8, 2020, the men cut a hole in the fence around the garden of De Jager and her fiancé. The robbery started ten hours later and lasted more than twenty minutes. The men used brutal violence. One of the robbers tried to cut loose jewelry on Nikkie’s wrists.

Both victims were threatened with a firearm. They were also kicked, beaten and tied up with duct tape and ropes. The robbers made off with valuable jewelry and a Louis Vuitton bag. The makeup artist called the event “one of the most scary and traumatic events” in her life.

DNA traces
According to the Public Prosecution Service, the suspects looked around De Jager’s house several times in the months prior to the robbery. The DNA of Eddie N. was found in De Jager’s house. Including on the phone of one of the victims. He faces five years and six months in prison. According to justice, the getaway car belonged to Hamza T. He has to go to jail for seven years.

In the months before the robbery, his telephone also used a transmission tower in Uden, where De Jager lives. One of his other numbers is said to have been used during the robbery. According to the court, they are also involved in other crimes.

acquittal
Three weeks ago, the Public Prosecution Service demanded prison sentences of up to ten years against Hamza T. and Eddie N. A third suspect, Said O., was heard to demand nine years in prison. The court acquitted him, because it cannot be proven that he was in De Jager’s residence during the robbery.

Not a criminal organization
The lawsuit was not only about the robbery of De Jager. A total of eight men were on trial for four robberies and three burglaries in 2020. According to the justice system, the men formed a criminal organization, but the court does not agree. It ruled that it cannot be established that there was a permanent partnership.
