The Lebanese musician Yasmine Hamdan released her new album “I Remember I Forget” in September – her first in eight years. Appropriately, she came to Germany for three concerts in early 2026.
Who is Yasmine Hamdan?
Yasmine Hamdan became known with her first volume “Soap Kills”, which she founded in 1997 together with Zeid Hamdan, one of the first indie bands in the Middle East. The debut album “Bater” was released in 1999 and made it a formative figure of the alternative Arab music scene.
Later she worked with the French producer Mirwais – who was already working with Madonna – in the duo Yas. With him she published the album “Arabology”. She was also active in the theater. For the Comédie Française, she wrote the soundtrack for a staging by Saadallah Wannous’ “Ritole Pour Une Métamorphose”.
As a solo artist, she cooperated with Marc Collin and published several albums, most recently in 2017. Her new album “I Remember I Forget” will be released on September 19, 2025. The first two singles “Hon” and “Shmaali” have already been published.
