Xavier Naidoo’s last officially recorded longer appearance took place almost exactly six years ago in the Festhalle in Frankfurt. Now the pop singer with a penchant for conspiracy theories, from which he recently appeared to be cleansed, is daring to make a comeback on stage.

His “Bei meine Seele” tour starts on Tuesday (December 16th) at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne. The next day (December 17th) there is another gig here. After that it’s a break until the new year. There are 11 concerts on the list in January.

Are there still tickets for the first comeback concert?

No, all “normal” tickets have been sold out for months. Recently, Xavier Naidoo also said that 150,000 tickets have now been sold for the tour. But there are still premium cards and resale tickets.

Can you still get tickets for the second Cologne concert?

Also no. Here too, all tickets have now been sold. But there are also resellers and premium tickets here.

Setlist: Which songs does Xavier Naidoo play?

That is the exciting question that no one can answer exactly at the moment, at least no one except Naidoo himself and his tour crew. However, the following selection is likely:

  • “This way”
  • “I don’t know anything (as beautiful as you)”
  • “She doesn’t see me.”
  • “Everything can get better”
  • “Where do you want to go?”
  • “Before you go”
  • “Out of this world”

We suspect that later solo songs with a strong end-time or redemption narrative are unlikely to be played, after all, Naidoo’s aim is to present the old Naidoo (or a new one?). There is what a setlist looked like in 2019 HERE to read.

When do the concerts start in Cologne?

The concert starts at 8 p.m. Entry is at 6 p.m.

Why are all eyes now on Xavier Naidoo?

In recent years, Xavier Naidoo has made himself ridiculous with his right-wing populist, anti-Semitic and conspiracy theory statements. His entry into the ranks of so-called Reichsbürger made him persona non grata in other areas as well. The mildest attempt to explain these thoughts expressed out loud, often on Telegram, was the all-too-constant consumption of substances containing cannabis. Now it’s not just his fans who want to know whether he has been reformed, whether his music has remained or has lost its power under the circumstances.

In 2022, the singer released an apology video that attracted a lot of media attention. “I have opened myself up to theories, perspectives and, in some cases, groups from which I distance myself without any ifs or buts,” he explained. But the question remained: How serious is Naidoo? In this respect, each of his speeches, the song selection and generally every gesture surrounding it will probably be examined intensively at least during the Cologne appearances.

In any case, Xavier Naidoo has been silent for the last few months. Press inquiries are rejected. His management makes it clear that only the music should now count (again).

Could there be protests against Xavier Naidoo?

That’s unclear – but it would be possible. Two lawsuits for sedition are still pending against Xavier Naidoo. After the Cologne concerts in the summer became known, the Jewish association Values Initiative called for their cancellation. The decision to let him perform again trivialized anti-Semitism. The early sell-out of tickets nevertheless shows that the vast majority want to hear Naidoo’s music again, especially for the good old days.
