Wrong end for playmaker Strauven at Lions | 1Limburg

After four seasons in Sittard’s service, the collaboration between the Belgian mid-builder and the winner of the BENE-League has come to a bitter end.

No French club
In January, 24-year-old Strauven announced to the management of the Sittard handball club that he was going to continue his career in the French league. In the end, Strauven failed to reach an agreement with a French club. But his place at Lions was now forfeited.

Replacement for Strauven
In the meantime, Lions has brought in a replacement for Strauven. The German Tobias Weiler has been added to the selection and has already made his debut in the main squad of Lions. The 23-year-old Weiler played in the past with the training team of the German top club Vfl Gummersbach.

No more room
Due to the arrival of Weiler, there is currently no more room for Strauven and the Belgian handball player is in danger of falling between two stools. In total, Strauven played 105 games for the Limburg squad. In it he scored 209 goals.
