Wow! Princess Amalia wears her mother’s wedding tiara during her first official trip to Oslo

Her tiara debut is a special moment for the princess. She is wearing the wedding diadem of her mother, Queen Máxima.

First official trip

This trip is the second official ceremony for Princess Amalia, who turned eighteen in December. Her first official working visit was when she was introduced to the Council of State by King Willem-Alexander. This time she travels to Norway with her parents to attend a gala dinner to celebrate the eighteenth birthday of Norwegian princess Ingrid Alexandra.

Amalia loves tiaras

The dress code of the postponed gala dinner in Oslo is White Tie† That means that Princess Amalia will wear an order ribbon and a tiara. Something the princess has been looking forward to for a long time. In the book Amalia that appeared in honor of her 18th birthday, the princess told that she loves tiaras. “Show me a tiara and I’ll know where it came from. I can recognize all the tiaras in Europe.” Amalia also wears bright pink Marchesa evening dress with cape.

She used to always put her mother’s on. This time too she wears a tiara from her mother. “The frame of the diadem is relatively new and, according to the catalog about jeweler Steltman, dates from 1965,” writes Josine Droogendijk of Fashion Queen Maxima The diamond stars are said to be a gift from the Von Wieds. Queen Máxima previously wore the tiara during her wedding.

Queen Máxima in burgundy

For this special occasion, Máxima has chosen a burgundy evening dress. The dress may look familiar to you, because she previously wore this beautiful piece during the inauguration of the Japanese Emperor Naruhito in 2019. The evening dress with boat neck and golden zigzag pattern is by Jan Taminiau, Máxima’s favorite Dutch designer. The Queen wears the diadem that is often called the Stuart diadem because it can be combined with the special Stuart diamond. But this time she left this beautiful diamond at home.
