According to the police, the man had ‘visible injuries’ and it was at first unclear what the reason for those injuries were. The victim was taken to the hospital.
Because he was out of consciousness and the police wanted to know his identity, the police made a call to informers. For example, it was asked whether visitors to a festival that took place in the Amsterdam Bos recognized the man’s bag. He had coins from that festival with him.
Later that evening he came to consciousness. “We now know who he is and he has indicated what happened,” said a police spokesperson. “And that’s not a crime.” The man had fallen while walking and was injured.
