The first final of the diving program at the Budapest World Championships saw China triumph, aiming for en-plein at every event. In the 3-meter synchro test, Giovanni Tocci (here 1 meter world bronze) and Lorenzo Marsaglia (who debuted in the national team in 2017 in this pool) finished in sixth place after being fourth until the last dive. In the triple group, a faulty entry into the water by the Roman thwarts the hope of a medal.

Di Maria first final

The first world final in the most difficult specialty: the platform. Italy finds the new Batki and greets the entry among the magnificent 12 from 10 meters of Sarah Di Maria Jodoin, a Calabrian father and a Bolognese mother who live in Canada. The 22-year-old dives with her left wrist bandaged (she will have an operation in September after the European Championships in Rome, where she hopes to do well) and especially when she performs the handstand she suffers pain from the pressure.
