World is hungry but not under control: 828 million people will be hungry in 2021

Between 702 and 828 million people will be affected by hunger in 2021. Since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, that number has increased by 150 million. This means that up to 10.5 percent of the world’s population experienced hunger in the past year. This is evident from the annual report on the state of food safety and nutrition in the world, prepared by five United Nations agencies.
