The silver medal winner from 2023 had confidently qualified in the round of 16 behind the Austrian Jakob Dusek. In the quarter -finals, he then chose an excessive line in the elongated curve and finished fourth.

The 31-year-old has so far been disappointing for the entire season. The seven -time World Cup winner has not yet been over sixth.

Bitter round of 16 for Germany

Leon Ulbricht was the best German in Snowboard Cross this winter, was already on the podium twice. In the first round, he started very well and was even in the lead for a long time. In one of the last curves, however, he also chose the long way, his pursuers Cameron Bolton and Lukas Pachner passed. On the finish line there was a photo finish between Pachner and Ulbricht – with the better end for the Austrian. A snowboard tip decided over KO and progress.

Paul Berg fell unhappily after the first jumps and therefore had no chance to get ahead. Leon Beckhaus drove after the entire round and was also the last of his round to miss the quarter -finals.
