The EM semi-finalists Denmark will travel to the World Cup in Qatar with at least three Bundesliga professionals.
Bundesliga players Oliver Christensen, Jesper Lindström and Jonas Wind are in Denmark’s provisional squad. The squad’s best-known player is midfield star Christian Eriksen, who collapsed on the field at last year’s European Championship.
Since his recovery, the 30-year-old has played for the national team again and since this summer also for Manchester United.
Places still open
Coach Kasper Hjulmand left five spaces open in his team presentation. “Many of our players still have two games left with their clubs”said the former coach of FSV Mainz 05. He will close his list by next week.
Former Bundesliga professionals Simon Kjaer (AC Milan), Andreas Christensen (Barcelona FC), Pierre Emile Hojbjerg (Tottenham Hotspur) and Thomas Delaney (FC Seville) are at the World Cup. In the preliminary round, the Danes meet Tunisia, world champions France and Australia.
