Tom Holland sent a message to Julian Alvarez before the debut of the Argentine National Team in the World Cup 2026. The English actor, protagonist of the last three films of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was consulted by the Atlético de Madrid forward at the microphones of DAZN during a promotional activity in Madrid for the launch of Spider-Man: Brand New Daythe fourth installment of the superhero. The meeting took place in fanzone of the Spanish National Team in Madrid, on the eve of Spain’s debut against Cape Verde, which ended in the unexpected 0-0 draw that became one of the surprises of the first round. The connection between Holland and Álvarez has a direct explanation: the forward has been in River Plate the nickname of “The Spider”and celebrates his goals with the characteristic gesture of throwing Spider-Man’s web, which made him the protagonist of memes and montages with the red and blue colors of the arachnid. Álvarez is also a confessed fan of the Marvel universe.
Holland went beyond the greeting and revealed that he follows the forward’s career closely. “I have him on my Fantasy team. He would be a great Spider-Man.
