Kevin Trapp has been under contract with Paris FC since 2025 and sees his duties there as a priority. Whether he could still take part in the World Cup depends on a decision that is out of his hands.
Goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has signaled his fundamental willingness to return to the German national team. However, the 35-year-old emphasized to “Sport Bild” that his obligations at Paris FC have priority for him.
Trapp told “Sport Bild”: “If there was a need and I was needed, I would of course be there immediately and with absolute commitment.” First and foremost, however, he “has a responsibility in France towards Paris FC and my team. I want to live up to that. Whether something will come of it – I don’t know.”
Trapp played nine international matches for Germany between 2017 and 2023. In 2025 he moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to French first division club Paris FC. A nomination for the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada (June 11 to July 19) is considered unlikely.
Trapp deliberately avoids making big announcements: “I know Julian Nagelsmann and his team well. I’m a fan of the national team. You won’t hear any big things from me. I don’t want to and don’t have to demand anything loudly.”
