Spanish soccer world champion Alexia Putellas has to undergo surgery on her damaged left knee. As FC Barcelona announced, the midfielder will undergo an arthroscopy. Afterwards we will know how long the 29-year-old will be out and what will happen next.
The two-time world footballer tore a cruciate ligament in her left knee in the summer of 2022 and then missed the European Championships in England. Putellas only returned in the run-up to this year’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
