Liège (dpa) – The French cycling world champion Julian Alaphilippe was seriously injured in his fall at the spring classic Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
The 29-year-old broke a shoulder blade and two ribs in a pile-up with 62 kilometers to go. He also sustained a lung injury. This was announced by his team Quick Step. His condition is stable.
