“We know the history: work had been carried out on the roundabout. It was rejected. The contractor then did it again. It was still not in order. The contractor was then sent away. Then we had to start a new procedure for a new contractor and that’s how we’ve been working for years,” explains mayor Wilfried Vandaele.

The end of the yard is not in sight. The intersection with the Brugsesteenweg will be removed in January and then the entire stretch up to the mill will still have to be tackled.
