It A.D looked at the most recent figures from Statistics Netherlands on family businesses per municipality. These figures concern the beginning of 2022. They show that the number of family businesses in Zoetermeer is growing, because in 2021 there were 1670.
Family businesses are all companies that are (fully) owned by a family or over which a family has full control. In total, the Netherlands has more than 300,000 family businesses, from the largest – beer brewer Heineken – to so-called micro businesses, sometimes employing only two people.
