Working on tracks during autumn holidays

Working on tracks during autumn holidays

During the autumn break, Infrabel will tackle the railway infrastructure for nine days. On the one hand, the overhead lines will be renovated and two level crossings, in Jabbeke and Oudenburg, will be renewed. On the other hand, maintenance is also carried out on the signaling equipment. Also last year during the autumn holidays there were already works between Bruges and Ostend.

Minimally hinder train traffic

The workers will work around the clock for nine days to get the works done on time. The autumn break is also one of the least busy periods of the year on the platforms. Infrabel wants to disrupt train traffic as little as possible.

Alternative transport

There are no trains between Bruges and Ostend during the autumn holidays, which is why NMBS is using replacement buses. Trains that normally run to and from Ostend are diverted via Blankenberge.
