Woodkid on tour 2022: tickets and dates

Seven years after his album THE GOLDEN AGE, Woodkid finally presented us with “Goliath” at the end of April 2020, a completely new song. The accompanying new album S16 was released in October of the same year, and ME author André Boße described its sound as “neo-classic trip-hop for the higher classes”. Like all other tours, the tour for the album presented by the Musikexpress had to be postponed due to the corona. There was a new date in September 2021, so Woodkid should be on four German stages in April 2022. This data must now also be corrected.

The show in Düsseldorf will be moved to the E-Werk in Cologne, tickets remain valid. The show in Berlin will be moved to the Columbiahalle, and these tickets will remain valid. The show in Wiesbaden remains unaffected by changes – the show in Hamburg, on the other hand, is unfortunately canceled without replacement. Tickets can be returned.

Former music video director Yoann Lemoine has previously created clips for Katy Perry’s 2010 single “Teenage Dream” and Lana Del Rey’s 2011 song “Born To Die.” His first record, THE GOLDEN AGE, saw both commercial success achieve as well as inspire critics and win prizes. The album sold more than 800,000 copies worldwide, received platinum awards in France and Germany and was nominated twice for a Grammy.

Although he made his breakthrough with his debut, he then withdrew from the solo music business for a while. He hasn’t been idle though – he has worked with Louis Vuitton’s Nicolas Ghesquière, written music for the New York City Ballet and created the original soundtrack for the film Desierto, which opened in 2015 as part of the Toronto International Film festival premiered.

Why does Woodkid enjoy such an excellent reputation? On the occasion of his new album, we took a closer look at Yoann Lemoine’s musical work – and talked to him about his inner monsters in a topical interview.
