RKC Waalwijk is another step closer to the Kitchen Champion Division. The Waalwijkers ran a visit to a 2-1 defeat on Friday evening. With five more games to go, enforcement in the Eredivisie seems to be virtually impossible.

RKC Waalwijk did not win six games in a row and finally wanted to add three points to the total in Nijmegen. The match against NEC was one in advance with possibilities for a good result for the people from Brabant. The Nijmegen residents have not yet known a strong season and have been camping in the right row for some time.

Almost your own goal
The first half it was the home team with the most danger. RKC goalkeeper Jeroen Houwen kept well and was lucky that Nijmegen attacks were not effectively completed. The only danger of the guests from Waalwijk came after ten minutes when Chris Lokesa’s shot was blocked. In the same attack, a cross from Mohamed Ihattaren almost flew into the second post through an opponent.

After the break, NEC shot off the starting blocks. After about 15 seconds it was already hit when Kodai Sano shot hard: 1-0. After the fast goal, RKC Waalwijk was unable to put something against it.

The guests came to set up the last half hour. Striker Michiel Kramer, the replacement of Oskar Zawada, was dangerous for the goal a number of times, but NEC goalkeeper Robin Roefs from Heeswijk kept his goal clean. In the 79th minute it was hit by Kramer. The striker headed after a great cross from Ihattaren. The goal was celebrated in the branch, where a number of cups were also thrown on the field. This resulted in a short strike, although the players remained on the edge of the field.

Winning goal
In the final phase it went in both sides. RKC Waalwijk was not satisfied with the equal stand and chose the attack. It also became threatening, but on the other hand it was careful for quick emotions. In the extra time, the home crowd was able to cheer for the second time. Bryan Linssen headed in a cross from Sontje Hansen and gave his team the 2-1 victory.

Due to the defeat, the gap between Willem II and RKC Waalwijk remains five points. The sixteenth place means playing play-offs for enforcement in the Eredivisie. Willem II has played a duel less and will play against Ajax in Tilburg on Sunday afternoon.
