Women’s team of CSVC and Germanicus will have Gerjan Tromp from Coevorden as trainer next season. ‘I want to be a motivator along the line’

As of next season, Gerjan Tromp will be the new trainer of the ladies of CSVC and Germanicus from Coevorden. This season Gerrit Hulst and Tom Dekker are the trainers of CSVC/Germanicus.

In addition to his experience as a footballer – in the youth and reserves of professional club PEC Zwolle (the Coevordenaar was once the travel buddy of current Feyenoord coach and Bergentheimer Arne Slot on the train to Zwolle), Tromp (43) has nest as a central midfielder at Germanicus – experience as a trainer of the girls under 15 team of FC Coevorden.

With the appointment of Tromp as coach, both associations express the wish to focus more on the policy for girls and ladies. And on the connection between youth and seniors – both the first women’s team and the 7 against 7 team – where exchange is visible.

“Girls now often stay with the boys for a long time if there is no team for them,” says Tromp. “If you want to take women’s football to a higher level as an association, you have to make a policy for this and ensure that football can be played in girls’ teams up to the seniors.” This season, Annet Zwakenberg has appointed a women’s football coordinator. She is the link between the team, the club boards and staff. Zwakenberg played football in the first women’s team and now plays in the 7 against 7 team of CSVC.

Fourth class

Together with the technical coordinators, Tromp will write a plan to better guarantee the growth of the ladies from the youth. The ladies come out in the fourth class and are in the top three. Recently, leader SV DESZ from Zwartsluis won at home. “The ambition is to play at a higher level in the future, but the selection must be broad enough for this,” says Tromp. “Whether the championship is still possible? Who knows. The miracles are not yet out of the world.”

The current group of ladies seems to stay together after the summer. Tromp: ,,That is of course positive. I think the potential is there to be able to play in the third division again over time.” The Coevorder coach wants to be a motivator along the line next season. “And if we have enough quality to play with three in the front, I will not fail to do so.”

A large girls’ tournament will be held on Saturday 3 June from 10 a.m. at the Pampert sports park – owned by Germanicus. Teams aged under 13 and 15 from the second and third division can participate that day.
