The clearly favored Frankfurt team had a lot of possession in the first half in Jena, but the SGE didn’t have a big chance against the strongly defending hosts. In addition, striker Nicole Anyomi had to be substituted with an injury in the 40th minute.
Even after the break, Eintracht initially struggled. The doublet that came into the game for Anyomi saved the Hessians. Chiba and Freigang made the decision in the final phase. Shortly beforehand, however, national player Sophia Kleinherne also had to go out due to an injury.
After the conclusion of the 12th matchday on Monday, the league will go into an almost six-week break. Eintracht only gets back into the action at the beginning of February with a home game against Bayer Leverkusen.
