Successful European Championship start for the DFB women-with a drop of bitterness: Germany won the game against Poland 2-0 on Friday, captain Giulia Gwinn. The right -back had to be replaced with a knee injury in the 40th minute. She had injured herself in a duel with Ewa Pajor.
Several players emphasized how important gwinn is for the team. With its mentality in particular, it is extremely important apart from the lawn, Jule Brand emphasized in the ARD. With a good performance, Gwinn also went in front until her replacement. The 26-year-old threw herself into every duel, ran up and down the right side. From T-Online there was a grade 2 in individual criticism. The complete individual criticism can be found here or up in the photo show.
Despite the injury of the captain, the DFB women showed improved performance in the second round. Jule Brand’s leadership was the breast removal for the German team, which could also have won even higher. National coach Christian Wück said in the ARD: “During the break, I said that we should stick to the plan and stay calm. We are very satisfied with the result. But we know that we can play much better.”
The good appearance in the second half is also reflected in the grades. Two players received the top grade and knew how to recommend themselves for further missions. Some other players also performed well.
The next opponent for Germany is Denmark. Next Tuesday, the team of national coach Christian Wück in Basel will not meet Pernille Harder and Co., but a hurdle that the DFB women have to take on the way to the quarter-finals.
