FC Bayern Munich has won the chasing duel in the women’s Bundesliga against Eintracht Frankfurt and remains on the heels of leaders Wolfsburg.
FC Bayern celebrated a 2-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt at the start of the second half of the women’s Bundesliga on Saturday and moved past Eintracht to second place in the table.
Glodis Viggosdottir gave Munich the lead (25′), Iceland’s international scored with a header after a corner kick. Lea Schüller made it 2-0 eleven minutes before the final whistle after a well-considered counterattack. Frankfurt’s goal from Lara Prasnikar (82nd) came too late.
With 28 points, the women from Munich are now the first pursuers of leaders VfL Wolfsburg (33), the women of wolves will play at SGS Essen on Sunday.
