Wilfred Genee is back with a new football talk show: Veronica Offside. Not with his Today Inside colleagues Johan Derksen and René van der Gijp, but with regular analysts Andy van der Meijde, Wesley Sneijder and Wim Kieft. Wilfred did the first episode yesterday together with Andy and Wesley, where Wesley was in René van der Gijp’s old place.

“Wesley from the tube!”

René’s wife, Minouche, is not impressed by her husband’s successor. She finds Wesley deeply disappointing as a football analyst, especially as he admitted to having barely seen football: “Not much. No, I’ve seen a few. But yes, I don’t watch everything. I don’t have time for that.”

Minouche thinks that’s impossible. “I let Wesley exchange them for Rafael van der Vaart. If you the Job of analyst does not take seriously enough to watch 90 percent of the matches, you should stay at home. It’s something I don’t find attractive to look at and I don’t bet a large part of the Netherlands either,” she sneezes.

Trust in Andy

Well, that’s fierce criticism from Minouche. She expressed her comment last night in a story on Instagram, but she has since deleted it. “So sit and watch Veronica Offside with a critical eye”, she started her message, after which she discussed the men one by one.

And what does she think of Andy? “I have faith in Andy, only now he has a little more in himself. But the first time is also exciting, but I hope it will loosen up a bit. The humor is there, just flatter isn’t always better. Timing and relevance do. In any case, I give it to him.”

‘I miss Jan!’

The third analyst at the table was Erik Dijkstra. “Erik who?” Minouche says relentlessly.

Wilfred did a great job, she continues. “Wilfred is simply the best presenter, and he proves it again with this.”

Finally: “We miss Jan Boskamp. I repeat, we miss Jan Boskamp. Point.”
