A woman died on Wednesday evening after she ended up in the water at the Leursedijk in Etten-Leur. That happened around a quarter past seven.
Passers-by saw the woman lying in the water and pulled her out. Despite the efforts of many emergency services, the woman died.
How the woman got into the water is under investigation. Police forensic specialists are present.
