Woman (39) suspected of arson in Hoorn home released

The 39-year-old woman who was arrested on Wednesday afternoon for a house fire at the Papiermolen in Hoorn has been released for the time being. She is still suspected of possible involvement in arson. The police informed NH.

According to local residents, they were waiting for something to happen, they previously told the regional broadcaster. “There are often problems,” said a local resident who wished to remain anonymous. They spoke of a ‘drug problem’ with the resident and strongly suspected that the fire had been started. The suspicious woman does not live in the building herself.

The police are considering arson and are investigating the exact cause of the fire. “Forensic investigation must show whether there is indeed a case of arson,” said a spokesperson.

Uninhabitable

The resident was not at home at the time of the fire, which broke out at 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The flames were coming out of the front and back of the terraced house. According to a spokesperson for the safety region, the house was completely burned out. The adjacent houses had also suffered damage.
