The 24-year-old Cheyenne L. from Boxtel was sentenced by the court in Den Bosch on Monday to ten months in prison. She injured her ex-boyfriend in 2023 and 2024 during several quarrels with a knife and endangered two women last year.
In July 2023, the police received a report of a stabbing in Boxtel. Agents found the then friend of L. with stabbing and cuts in his chest and arm. There was still a part of a potato peeler in his arm.
In November 2024 things went wrong again. The police again received a report of a stabbing in L.’s house in Boxtel. Her ex had stab wounds in his shoulder, arm and stomach. L. was arrested and her ex reported this time.
L. denies having something to do with the injuries. “I didn’t get that knife. It wouldn’t surprise me if he stabbed himself,” she said two weeks ago in the Bosch’s courtroom. The court finds that unlikely.
Not enough proof
The court states in the verdict that there is no evidence that L. wanted to kill her ex-boyfriend. It is also not possible to determine how deep the wounds were and with how much force was stabbed or cut. In addition, there is nowhere in the file that the injuries were life threatening.
The judge therefore spoke free of attempted manslaughter, but did condemned her for attempted serious abuse. “Victims of these kinds of serious facts often suffer from this for years. The scars that the victim has left of this will always remind him of these facts,” the court states in the verdict.
Battle
In addition to these serious abuse, L. was also involved in a fight in February 2024. A woman who was involved reported a report because of mistreatment and threat. According to the court, L. could not stand that this woman was in contact with her ex-boyfriend.
She would also have pushed the mother -in -law of this woman, causing it to fall on the ground. She would have threatened them with the words: “I cut you open, from your head to your cunt”. L. was found guilty of abuse and threat.
The punishment is lower: the public prosecutor demanded 4.5 years in prison and TBS with compulsory nursing two weeks ago. Due to reduced imputability, L. is not held fully responsible for its actions. The court chose TBS with conditions, which means that the treatment takes place outside of a clinic. According to experts, this is more likely to succeed.
