National coach Julian Nagelsmann nominated three new players for the upcoming World Cup qualification games in September. Leroy Sané is not there.

For the first time in the 23-man squad, the offensive midfielder Paul Nebel from FSV Mainz 05, defender Namdi Collins of Eintracht Frankfurt and goalkeeper Finn Dahmen from FC Augsburg as a replacement for the injured Marc-André Ter.

The national coach had to improvise vigorously in Cologne for the qualification against Slovakia in Bratislava on September 4 and against Northern Ireland three days later in Cologne. In addition to Ter Stegen, Bayern star Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, central defender Nico Schlotterbeck, right-back Benjamin Henrichs and striker Tim Kleindienst are also injured. The only nominal player for the right defense in the squad is the newcomer Collins. Waldemar Anton could also play there.

Sané is missing in the squad

The most prominent missing is Sané (29/70 international matches). With his change from FC Bayern to Galatasaray Istanbul in summer, the offensive player may have moved from an immediate field of vision. This time, for example, Robin Gosens, Felix Nmecha, Jonathan Burkardt or Deniz Undav were not taken into account.
