Summer is full of celebrations. The festive season will start a week later at the graduation party. In addition, there are banquets, pros, birthdays and other family celebrations.

Food influencer Kati Ostrobothnia notes that the secret of a successful celebration can be found in small but thoughtful choices.

At the request of Iltalehti, he gathered tips to make the holiday memorable – without unnecessary stress.

1. Put the main character of the party at the center

The celebration is a celebration of the hero of the day. Ask what he hopes: what kind of atmosphere, what is your favorite food, what about the color theme? If the hero hopes for a pink party, it can be easily accomplished in decorations, serving and table setting. The style of the party – a casual garden party or traditional coffee – is worth building according to his personality.

2. Serving that is more than to eat

Good food comes to mind. At its best, it supports the atmosphere of the celebration. Choose seasonal, fresh to offer: berries, salads, fish, season pie, homemade lemonade. Also, think about why these foods have been selected.

For example, if you want to emphasize domesticity or ecology, tell it already in a welcome speech. Foods can be named and small stories can be connected to either menu or serving cards. For example: “Summer salad from a mother’s vegetable garden” or “chocolate cake at the hero’s wish”.

Often, you should prefer to choose less species and invest in quality and meaning.

3. Hygiene – especially in the summer

Summer brings its own challenges to food safety. Use cold plates and dishes, protect the food from insects, and avoid easily contaminated ingredients unless cool storage can be guaranteed.

Bring preferably a little at a time, especially in the heat. Foods can be supplemented from the kitchen as needed. It is a good idea to ask for help in the kitchen that take care of the supplements and the present. This allows the host and host to be present at the party and with the guests.

4. Special diets? No problem

It is a good idea to find out in advance the allergies and diets. Serving can use the options that are suitable for everyone: a vegan salad, a gluten -free pastry, a lactose -free pie. Clear markings (g, l, v) help everyone find the right food.

If there are many special diets, consider, for example, a salad or sandwich buffet. Everyone can assemble their own dose of their diet and the serving is handled in a variety and relaxed manner at once.

5. Make a serving part of the party experience

Serving can be more than food. It can be part of the party program and atmosphere. Decorate the tables beautifully and tell the story of food, for example, of the favorite ingredients of the day hero or the traditional recipes of the family.

Also note the theme of the party in drinks. Non -alcoholic options do not have to be boring. You can prepare the theme that suits the theme in the jug, for example, with fruits and herbs. Holistic drinks are selected to complement the food unit, not to its shadow.

Guests can be given a commemoration of a party mocktail recipe or a menu with a small greeting from the hero of the day. The thank -you card can be given when you leave the party. A small gesture makes remembering more personal.

6. Visuality crowns the whole

Aesthetics does not require a big budget. Take advantage of natural flowers, serving dishes and theme colors. A simple table setting with beautiful theme napkins and offerings greatly raises the mood.

Remember to decorate also edible flowers and fresh herbs. They finish the cakes, salads and drinks, and bring a beautiful and fresh look to the party table. If the theme color of the celebration is pink, it can be brought to the fore, for example in rose leaf or pink berries.

7. Don’t do everything yourself – plan on time

The organizer also deserves to enjoy on the day. Remember to ask for help with the kitchen and serving. Make a time -to -do list of planning for several days. This way, the preparations do not accumulate on the last evening.

Example of the schedule of party arrangements:

  • 7 days before: Make a shopping list and a trade plan
  • 6 days before: Go shopping for drinks from the store
  • 3 days before: search for decorations and flowers, shopping and preparation of food
  • 2 days before: Ironing of tablecloths, putting on serving dishes, shopping and preparing food
  • 1 day before: furniture layout, canopy erecting, some of the foods, food and drink finishing
  • On a holiday: Enjoy a party

External or share responsibilities: Someone can handle flowers, another drinks, third photography. When the work is shared, the party is born together and the organizer can enjoy the atmosphere.

Finally remember this:

The best parties do not come from the perfect framework, but that everyone has thought about their place and the atmosphere seems to be a truly celebration.
