Great luck for Wil Poot from Vries. Her 45-kilometer car was recently destroyed, but thanks to help from an unexpected source, she can now travel carefree again in her red car.
“Well, I’m so happy,” Poot responds cheerfully when she sees her car for the first time at the car garage. “At least I can drive a car again.”
Poot’s car was destroyed a few weeks ago while she was having coffee with her friend Anneke Brink. But who is responsible for the destruction remained unclear and so the friends placed a notice on Facebook.
Lien Wienholt saw the message and decided to take action. After a fundraising campaign and a generous repairman, the red 45-kilometer car is like new again.
The relief for Poot is enormous, because the destroyed car kept her busy day and night. “I haven’t been able to sleep since that car left. All on meds.”
But from now on she can go out again with her means of transport. “This is my everything.” It is also a special moment for lifesaver Wienholt: “Really very happy, a grin from ear to ear.”
