Together with his father Jos, Tom Hoogeboom likes to train in the woods and dunes of Schoorl. One running and the other on the bike briefly after it. “He used to coach me and also knows a lot,” says the talented athlete.
As a little boy, Tom saw his father win the Leiden Marathon in 2007. Hoogeboom Sr. did 2.36.57 over the more than 42 kilometers. “I was in front of the TV then and I thought this would also be achieved later.”
