Juining in the rain is no longer necessary at the LTC football club from Assen. The club finally has its own grandstand. Last year it was purchased through Marktplaats, now the stands are put together and at the main field. A long -held wish from LTC.
The weather, problems with illness and some delay from the municipality have ensured that it took a while before the ‘kit is real. The grandstand is 24 meters long and has space for around 250 supporters. “We are very happy with it,” says Penningsmeester Floris Wasser.
A team of mostly volunteers re -built the stands. Wasser: “Most of the work is in the preliminary work. The excavation, foundation, everything that comes with it.”
Then all parts were displayed and sorted out. “In terms of parts, the grandstand was 28 meters long, we were able to make it 24 meters because a number of parts were no longer good.”
The club hoped to have everything ready last November, but among other things the weather and illness threw a spanner in the works. “The structure has stopped for about six months, we could only continue in March,” Wasser looks back.
Now that the grandstand is finally standing, it is still a while to wait until it can really be used. It is therefore summer vacation at the club. “On September 13 we will play the opening match against FC De Rebellen, a team with former professional football players.”
In addition, the name and sponsor of the stands will soon be presented.
