Anyone who looks out the window on Friday morning may be surprised by snow. This will remain the case for a while, because a white weekend is just around the corner. But be careful: take slipperiness into account. “A few centimeters of snow may fall,” says weatherman Matthijs van der Linden of Weerplaza.
It will be a white day in many places with winter showers, snow and wet snow. “There is also some rain, especially in the west of Brabant. I think that it will be or become white in a number of places in the east this morning. Those showers will continue,” says Van der Linden.
Feeling temperature below zero
According to the weatherman, the temperature will rise slightly during the day and will be just slightly above freezing in the east. In the west it is two to three degrees. Although the perceived temperature is below zero. “But it’s not very cold,” he says.
But during a winter shower the temperature will drop towards freezing point. “That’s why you have to take slippery conditions into account all day long.”
White landscape
The winter showers will decrease somewhat on Friday evening. Yet they simply return at night. “These become a bit more interesting if you like a white landscape. If you go out on Saturday, it may be white outside,” says the weatherman. “A few centimeters may fall.”
There is still a chance of these types of showers in the province on Sunday. “It will be a winter weekend,” he says.
