FC Augsburg landed the top transfer. The club invested around 17 million euros in Ricardo Pepi Dallas. Overall, VfL Wolfsburg took the most money. Jonas Wind came from Copenhagen for around twelve million, Kevin Paredes for around seven million Washington. In addition, VfL paid five million for Max Kruse from Union Berlin.

SC Freiburg also made people sit up and take notice. Breisgauer brought in Hugo Siquet from Liège for 4.5 million euros. Borussia Mönchengladbach let Union cost Marvin Friedrich 5.5 million.

Departures more prominent

The departures were much more prominent. Gladbach sold Denis Zakaria to Juventus for an estimated 8.6 million euros, Wolfsburg let Wout Weghorst to FC for 14 million Burnley draw. As some clubs also thinned out their squad, income and expenses were almost balanced. Overall, the 18 Bundesliga clubs invested around 60.6 million euros in 21 new players and earned around 52.3 million for 28 departures – that’s a minus of around 8.3 million.
