“Children of Man”
Winter sports expert Neureuther congratulates too early

Early congratulations are not appropriate in sport. Winter sports expert Felix Neureuther also found out about this.
Finnish ski racer Eduard Hallberg narrowly missed his first World Cup victory. At the night slalom in Madonna di Campiglio (Italy) he fell back to second place shortly before the end due to a driving error; the race was won by the French Olympic champion Clément Noël.
Hallberg already looked like the sure winner. Winter sports expert Felix Neureuther also shared this opinion. “That was so good, that’s so clever. Eduard Hallberg, I congratulate…” said Neureuther on the TV channel Eurosport, shortly before the Finn made the crucial mistake.
When it became clear that Hallberg wouldn’t be able to take first place, Neureuther cursed into the microphone: “Oh, children of humanity.” Noël narrowly edged Hallberg (0.12 seconds), with Frenchman Paco Rassat third.
