For kids with some sort of cultural sensitivity (or parents who want to start trying that approach for their kids), museums have a number of exciting activities.

in Palermo, Malba organized a special program with different workshops around the idea of the museum and a selection of artists from its collection, with their recurring themes and their main techniques. The activities are face-to-face and also virtual, and are included with the entrance ticket to the museum. On July 27, for example, there will be a fanzine workshop inspired by Yente’s artist books, present in the exhibition “Yente-Del Prete. blissful life.” The idea is to create, in one afternoon, a collective publication that works with drawing, writing and collage. There will also be a workshop on precious practices on basketry on July 28, seeking to build baskets with remnants of the textile industry, and on the 29th there will be an amulets workshop led by Lourdes Chicco Ruiz, an artisan shoemaker.

The tour of the works in the collection will be on the 25th and also on the 31st, and will invite you to focus on the characters created by the artists, to discover their characteristics, powers and stories. The activity ends in a workshop, where each child can make their own work of art. This activity is free and through Zoom (with prior registration).
