Marcel Sabitzer has been linked with an early departure from Borussia Dortmund. The BVB star is supposed to arouse desire in Turkey.

As the sports magazine “Fanatik” reports, Sabitzer is on the list at Besiktas.

Accordingly, the Austrian was offered a winter transfer by his agent at the top Turkish club.

It is also said that those responsible at the Istanbul club are now thinking about a potential transfer of the BVB star. If they give the green light, negotiations with Borussia Dortmund should begin.

Change is “not an issue” for BVB star Sabitzer

Sabitzer is contractually bound to the Bundesliga club until 2027. Recently there was little to suggest an early farewell.

In October, the 31-year-old spoke about a possible move and emphasized that saying goodbye to BVB was not an option for him. “I already said it at the Club World Cup: That wasn’t an issue. I feel comfortable here anyway,” he said on “Sky”.

Looking at the past season, in which Sabitzer wasn’t always well placed, he noted: “There are personal ups and downs, that’s just the way it is. It certainly wasn’t an easy year last year. Everyone did their part.”

In the summer, Sabitzer was still considered a sales candidate. It was said at the time that his generous salary was a thorn in the side of BVB officials.

But coach Niko Kovac is said to have initiated a U-turn. Apparently the coach campaigned for Sabitzer to stay.

In the current season, Sabitzer has made 17 appearances across all competitions. From the start he was allowed 13 times. The central midfielder has three assists.

Sabitzer moved from FC Bayern to Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023. 19 million euros changed hands at that time.
