Winter 2024 was the second warmest and third wettest on record, and was very dreary

Uccle, the reference point for the weather in Belgium, experienced its second warmest winter on record. This is evident from the climatological overview of winter 2024 from the RMI. And – you guessed it – it also rained seriously. The months of December, January and February resulted in 310.7 mm of precipitation (normal 228.6 mm). This also made it the third wettest winter since observations began in 1833. A look at the figures:
