Willem II won on Friday evening in the extra time with 2-1 against Young FC Utrecht. The start of the season is not convincing, but many supporters think that their club returns to the Eredivisie after a year of kitchen champion division. “FC Volendam lost the first three games last season and became champion. I think we’re going to make it far,” says Fan Colin Lane.

Colin from Tilburg came on Friday evening with friends Timo Swaans, Jarne Swaans and Maarten van den Berg to the King Willem II Stadium. He believes that a nice selection has been compiled by technical director Freek Heerkens. “They are not top purchases, but I see it positively,” says Colin.

“Our newest addition Samuel Bamba played in the second of Borussia Dortmund, Alexander Isak (in the interest of Liverpool, ed.). I hope that our keeper Thomas Didillon-Hödl will remain. He played the first two duels, but when the Supporter is closed, says the Supporter goes up, says the Supporter Market.

“Ending in the first two will be difficult, but as third, fourth or fifth we can also promote through the play-offs. We should not all be that negative.”

The brothers Luca (10) and Finn van Oevelen (9) from Tilburg believe in a party at the end of the season. “I hope they become champions and actually have faith in it. Jari Schuurman is a good player and the new striker Devin Haen can also play well,” says Luca. “I also hope in the first place, but we can also be second. We are going back to the Eredivisie,” his brother adds.

“It will be a season with tough matches.”

A little further, Sanne van Hest walks in the club colors of Willem II. If it is up to her, she will look again next season at opponents such as PSV, Ajax and Feyenoord. “Getting the play-offs should definitely work, but I am going to the Eredivisie for promotion.” Her family member has less faith in it. “It will be a season with tough matches. I don’t think we will end high.”

Those who have no doubt are Jarno from Tilburg. He expects it will not be so exciting and will see Willem II end in the first two. “We are such a big club with many supporters. It can go here in our stadium and I ultimately expect that few teams will beat us.”
