Windhorst tweet causes a lot of excitement on Twitter

Hertha investor Lars Windhorst has around 6,800 followers on Twitter. Comparatively little. Nevertheless, a tweet from him on Wednesday caused a lot of excitement among Hertha fans.

“Dear friends of Hertha, I have repeatedly been accused in the press of breaking my word with regard to an alleged promise to Hertha. This kind of argument affects me very much!” Das wrote Lars Windhorst Wednesday afternoon.

The investor thus adds another chapter to the power struggle with Hertha. The claim that he had done this at a meeting with managing director Fredi Bobic was fabricated and a lie. “I can and would never give such a promise. Because I am for transparency, openness and against backrooms, ”wrote the entrepreneur on Wednesday.

The reaction of the Hertha fans was not long in coming: within a very short time, well over 100 supporters expressed their views. The tendency? Rather against Windhorst. Most who speak out against Windhorst resent him for speaking out at this point. After the last win against Hoffenheim, that would only cause unnecessary unrest and disrupt the relegation battle.

On Sunday, Windhorst called on the club members to vote out the current management team around Hertha President at their meeting in May Werner Gegenbauer to apply.

It was no longer possible “to achieve something together as a team under the leadership of Mr. Gegenbauer,” Windhorst said on Sunday on BILD-TV, opening the power struggle.

Gegenbauer himself took note of Windhorst’s question of power on Sunday and expressed reservations: “Our club can only take note of these statements by Mr. Windhorst at the moment,” wrote the 71-year-old.
