Windfall for PSV: Leicester City misses Jamie Vardy | Foreign football

Leicester City cannot yet have striker Jamie Vardy in the Conference League against PSV on Thursday. The maker of ten league goals this season has not yet recovered from a knee injury he sustained a month ago.

,,He has trained on the field again, but shooting the ball still hurts. It doesn’t look like he’s very close to a comeback,” said his trainer Brendan Rodgers.

With James Justin, Timothy Castagne, Wesley Fofana and Jonny Evans, four players have already returned from injuries to Rodgers’ satisfaction. “That allows us to play our own game. We’re getting close to our level again, but we’re not there yet. Our form and – more importantly – our football have improved.” Leicester is tenth in the Premier League and last weekend drew against Manchester United (1-1).

PSV misses Érick Gutiérrez (suspension), Armando Obispo, Ryan Thomas and Phillipp Mwene in the match in the quarterfinals of the third European club tournament. The first leg starts on Thursday at 9 p.m.
