Due to the changed wind, especially villages in Horst aan de Maas and Venray are now affected by the odor nuisance. The dangerous concentrations of carbon monoxide have now disappeared, but the stench still persists for the time being. The fire service therefore advises people in the area east of the fire to keep windows and doors closed for the time being. It is also best to switch off the ventilation systems of homes.
