The Frankfurt Lions came out of the Olympic break successfully. The Hessians presented themselves strongly against Bremerhaven and can now plan for another year in the DEL.
The Löwen Frankfurt will also play in the DEL next season. The 4-1 win on Wednesday evening against the Pinguins Bremerhaven meant early relegation for the Hessians.
Pfaffengut scores at the last second
Ty Glover opened the game with a 1-0 lead in the first period. Bremerhaven equalized in the second half and Linus Fröberg immediately regained the Löwen lead. With the final siren, Daniel Pfaffengut increased the score to 3:1. In the final third, Maksim Matushkin put the lid on the game with a counterattack goal.
Because bottom team Dresden lost in Cologne in the evening, the Lions are already certain of staying in the league. However, the gap to the pre-playoff places is still considerable.
