Willy wants Phillip Cocu as PSV trainer, René chooses Peter Bosz

Willy van de Kerkhof sees Phillip Cocu as a suitable successor to Roger Schmidt. The German trainer announced last week that he will stop at PSV after this season. René van de Kerkhof says in the new Willy & René podcast that his preference is for Peter Bosz. The brothers see an important role at the KNVB for departing director Toon Gerbrands.

“Cocu has performed well in the past,” says Willy van de Kerkhof in the Willy & René podcast. At the same time, the midfielder of the past acknowledges that the game under Cocu was often not pretty: “But sometimes that is necessary to perform.”

That is precisely why René has a preference for Peter Bosz, who is now under contract with Lyon. “I read between the lines that he does want to return to the Netherlands.” Cocu is a good alternative for René.

The brothers are united when it comes to the arrival of Marcel Brands. It was announced this week that he will succeed Toon Gerbrands as general manager in the summer. “The best purchase in years!” The brothers also think that Gerbrands should be kept for football. “The KNVB needs him to put things in order.”

This podcast also discusses the situation at Ajax and the new position of Ronald Koeman.
