In the formulas, the next season’s driver line-up was locked on Monday, when Williams, which remained jumbo in the season that ended, announced as expected by Logan Sargeant contract.

Sargeant’s stable location was already announced in October. The situation was confusing at first, because the driver’s application process for a super license was still in progress and you can’t compete in the royal class without it. Sargeant had to finish at least sixth in the F2 series. The final ranking was fourth.

The necessary permission has now been obtained, so Williams was able to double confirm that the American will be next year’s competitor.

The F1 series has not seen an American driver since 2015 and by Alexander Ross, who drove in five races. The last American driver to drive the whole season was Scott Speedwho competed in the 2007 season.

Sargeant drives a Williams by Alex Albon as a team mate.
