Willem II holds out with ten men against PEC, FC Eindhoven co-leader

Willem II held on with ten men against leader PEC Zwolle on the sixth day of play in the Kitchen Champion Division, 2-2. FC Eindhoven took advantage of this and is co-leader after the resounding 5-0 victory over MVV Maastricht. Furthermore, the matches of NAC Breda, TOP Oss and Jong PSV ended in 1-1. Den Bosch lost 2-1 to FC Dordrecht and Helmond Sport lost 2-0 at Jong FC Utrecht. Helmond Sport and FC Den Bosch now share last place.

PEC Zwolle – Willem II 2-2
Willem II had a lightning start against leader PEC Zwolle. Within fifteen minutes, the Tilburgers were on a 0-2 lead, thanks to goals from Max Svensson and Lucas Woudenberg. In the final phase of the first half, the home team received a penalty. That happened after Schouten had knocked down a broken player. That gave Schouten a red card. Lennart Thy cashed in on the opportunity, 2-1. A minute later, Tomislav Mrkonjic even equalized. After the break Willem II with ten men stood firm against the leader.

FC Dordrecht – FC Den Bosch 2-1
FC Den Bosch was already behind after two minutes. Aliou Baldé scored for the home club. After half an hour FC Dordrecht could have extended further, but Longo missed a penalty. In the second half, the people of Dordrecht succeeded. Mauro Savastano signed for the 2-0. Far into injury time, Teun van Grunsven saved the honor for the Bosschenaren.

De Graafschap – NAC Breda 1-1

FC Eindhoven – MVV Maastricht 5-0

Young FC Utrecht – Helmond Sport 2-0
Helmond Sport suffered a 2-0 defeat against last year’s Jong FC Utrecht. Scored before half time Yuya Ikeshita for Jong FC Utrecht. Four minutes before the end, Albert Lottin scored the second Utrecht goal. Due to the defeat, Helmond Sport and FC Den Bosch now share the last place in the Kitchen Champion Division.
